You would need at least a rear end gear to compensate for the dead first gear. That was OK when gas was cheap in 1967 and you did not mind pulling 3000 RPM at 50 MPH while going to work. Times and requirements have changed making both the M21 and M22 the closest ratio production 4 speeds ever produced but also not practical for today's driving habits unless road racing is your thing.

· Hate to think what would have happened to a Muncie M22 at that time. That Vega weighed in at 2200 lbs and had a 585 HP 287 at that time in S/G, then I built a 378 that had 660HP for S/C. They became to unreliable as I started to explode the counter gears and the 3rd. gear teeth that were in mesh, that was the weakest link in a A833.

· I have a super case M22 from Auto is in my 67 Camaro SS/RS 454 cid. with console. The problem I am having is getting my Hurst comp+ shifter to mount up. I do not want to use the installation kit that uses the U bolt around the tail shaft. I have 1 steel and 2 different aluminium adapters for the shifter and I still can not get it to work.
